Tales of Draqoyin - One step further - Part 2

VHS tape Tales of Draqoyin - Part 2 One Step Further

Taking a step further...

Still a bit cautious, we took the same dose as last time. However, this shroom was said to bring more euphoria than the McKennaii. Despite my high expectations from last time, this time I approached it with a more open mind.

There we were, in the garden, on a blanket. One big sandbox. The weather was lovely, sun rays sliding over your face. There was a gentle breeze providing delightful coolness. As we lay on the blanket, staring at the clouds, the trip began...

The build-up is clearer than last time. A light, uncomfortable feeling starts to emerge in my stomach, I yawn. It's known to me that you can feel nauseous when tripping on shrooms, another yawn. After a while, the nausea disappears, and I lie on the blanket, enjoying amazing cloud formations merging into each other. Geometric shapes start to form on the amazing blue canvas in the sky. I follow where my interest leads.

My friend keeps pointing out new things to me every time. "Look how green the grass is!" she says. The glowing green blanket, next to us. "Feel the sand!" We're in our own bubble, and it feels amazing. The euphoria from B+ is truly a new experience. Everything is so vivid, and it feels like you can crawl into everything. I'm enjoying it. Another yawn...

While my friend turned onto her stomach and is playing with the sand, I'm still focusing on the sky. It's a peculiar sensation; the geometric shapes keep coming and going, and at one point, I close my eyes.

A vision forms in front of me. I'm looking at a kitchen from another space. A rustic kitchen, with lots of untreated wood. There's a figure at the kitchen counter. It's a kitchen island. The figure is unpacking stuff (I think they're groceries). But nothing moves. It seems like a still from a movie. I try to look further to see if something is going to happen, but the image remains fixed.

As I open my eyes again, our conversations start flowing. We talk about this and that. These are usually the moments when I start to wonder about things. I ask my friend what it's called when you see those colours and geometric shapes, you also have glasses for that. "Kaleidoscope," she says with difficulty. Her brain always turns to mush while for me, the need for understanding is drawn more to the foreground. Don't get me wrong. I always want to understand everything, and if I can't, there's a possibility that I could get stuck on it for days. It's precisely these moments that I find amazing because even though I might not fully understand what's being said, it's okay.

I gaze again at the blue canvas above me, slightly disappointed as the white veils start to disappear, and the beautiful image it brought with it now fades into imagination. The geometric shapes slowly start to merge into a whole. The best way to describe this is the label of a water bottle, but spread over the entire blue canvas. I see a water's edge, behind it a large forest of pine trees. To the left and right, a small island with a few trees. I look at a lake. In front of that lake, as if I'm seeing the beginning of a movie, I see a large label appear, the whole thing resembling the label on a water bottle. I can't read what the text on the label means.

We start talking again.

Towards the end of the trip, the activity starts to come more to the surface. Occasionally, I walk to the toilet to pee, and every time I come back, we look at each other and burst into laughter. Everything is okay, this is vacation.

A deep sigh, and we blow the trip away from us... Woosh.
